For those who have previously applied for jobs, some positions
actually ask for certain academic qualifications , be it Diploma ,
'O' level or 'A' level etc, this is because the company sets aside
a lower pay scheme for that position. So if the company sets aside
perhaps around 1.2K for this job , they might even reject the uni
grad for an ITE grad.
I agree that acamedic qualifications play a huge part in getting a
job. But your cert only matters for your starting pay , after which
it depends how much effort you are willing to put in , an ITE grad
might be paid much lower initially if he/she is chosen , he/she
mite end up earning much more than a uni grad if he/she is
streetsmart or really hardworking.
Nothing is fair in this world , let's face it. Higher education wun
guarantee you a job , lower education does not mean no future
either. Its a land of opportunities and how you plan to make full
use of them.
